Seniors

Single Hero

Group of students gather for Senior Sunrise event on the football field; sunrise taking place behind them!

Senior rah! Senior rah! Rah-rah, Senior! Senior year at Sidney High School is filled with traditions and special events.

Yellow Jacket Senior Life

Senior year starts off with the Senior Sunrise, a morning where senior students come together before the start of the new school year to greet each other and watch the sunrise. It's symbolic of the start of the final chapter at Sidney City Schools.

Of course, there are the traditional milestone events throughout the year like homecoming and prom, those final band, choir, orchestra concerts, and senior nights for various sports and clubs.

The school year ends with a variety of other traditions like Baccalaureate, senior picnic, graduation practice, clap out, and painting "The Wall."

The culminating event, of course, is graduation day.

Below you will find a schedule of senior events, however, we recommend you follow the instagram accounts on this page to ensure you don't miss other important senior events!

Senior Voices

No post to display.

“What do you know for sure? It is a question I like to ask the seniors in my English class. It makes for great discussion.

“The more time I spend with young people, the more I see them get frustrated when older people say 'Wait until you get into the real world.' This statement implies that young people aren’t living in a world of responsibilities and experiences. While their world may be different from their older counterparts, it is very much real.

“They have lived experiences that are worth sharing. Part of my job is to help them put those experiences into words and find their voices. This year we spent time exploring what we know for sure. What we truly believe is hard to capture in words unless we slow down enough to reflect on it.

“The Class of 2023 will be sharing their beliefs- what they know for sure. I hope you enjoy listening to their voices as much as I do.” —Sara Olding, Sidney High School English teacher.
